Bucks kick off homestand by hosting Knicks

(My Sportsbook) - Milwaukee shoots for its second consecutive win Saturday when the team kicks off a lengthy six-game homestand by welcoming the reeling New York Knicks to the Bradley Center.

Andrew Bogut had 17 points and 10 rebounds on Friday, as the Bucks took an 87-72 decision from the Minnesota Timberwolves in Minneapolis.

Luke Ridnour was an efficient 6-of-9 from the field, including a pair of three-point shots, totaling 16 points for Milwaukee, which was coming off a narrow loss to the Bulls on Tuesday.

Hakim Warrick helped ignite a second-half charge and finished with 12 points and seven rebounds, while rookie point guard Brandon Jennings was 4-of-16 from the field for nine points. He also accumulated six boards and three assists.

"We played good defense all four games, we just haven't scored a lot of points," Ridnour said of the Bucks' 2-2 record thus far. "We'll just keep working at it and get better."

Milwaukee remains without its top scoring threat, guard Michael Redd, who will miss at least two weeks after experiencing soreness in his surgically-repaired left knee. Redd, who underwent surgery last March to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament, left last Saturday's game against Detroit during the third quarter with discomfort.

The Bucks will also face Denver, Golden State, Dallas, New Jersey and Charlotte on their residency.

The Knicks, meanwhile, fell in New York Friday when LeBron James, who is rumored to be interested in playing for the Knicks next season, recorded game bests of 33 points and nine assists to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to their sixth straight win over New York with a 100-91 victory at Madison Square Garden.

"This building is very special," James said of MSG. "We had to come in here and do the things we had to do to get the win."

David Lee poured in 21 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Knicks, who fell to 1-5 on the year. Danilo Gallinari chipped in 17 points and former Cavs guard Larry Hughes 18 with five boards and four helpers in defeat. Al Harrington added 14 points and Wilson Chandler 11 with six boards.

Trailing by 19 points late in the game, the Knicks made a valiant effort. Harrington and Gallinari hit consecutive three-pointers, and then a basket each to close it to 91-82 with 3:44 left to play.

"It's tough with those big guys they have, you just have to do your best to stay attached to them," said Lee. "We do it in spurts...we were very aggressive the last two quarters."

Milwaukee took three of four games vs. New York last season with the teams splitting a pair of games at the Bradley Center.
