Portland, OR (My Sportsbook) - Sebastien Bourdais won Saturday's second qualifying session and just edged out provisional pole winner Bruno Junqueira for the top spot in Sunday's Grand Prix of Portland. Junqueira's provisional time of 59.266 set in the Friday session held up until the Frenchman Bourdais posted his fastest lap of the day on lap nine of 15. The time was just 0.037 seconds faster than Junqueira, who was just 10th best in the second session. Defending series champion Paul Tracy was second fastest on Saturday with a time of 59.314 seconds and will start third on the grid. Junqueira was guaranteed the second front row position for winning Friday's qualifying session. Former F1 driver Justin Wilson (59.414) will start in row two with Tracy. Junqueira holds a 77-75 point lead over Patrick Carpentier. The times were well off the record lap of 57.738 seconds (122.768 m.p.h.) set in June 2000 by Helio Castroneves. Last week's Milwaukee Mile winner, American Ryan Hunter-Reay, will start 10th in the 18-car field. The race is scheduled to begin on Sunday at 4 p.m. (et).
