| Antonio Spurs on Thursday for a 2003 second-round draft pick. Bateer, 26, had been acquired by the Pistons from Denver along with forward Don Reid and a future first-round draft pick on October 1, 2002 in exchange for forward Rodney White. Bateer is a native Mongolian, and joined Wang Zhizhi of the Dallas Mavericks as the second Chinese player in the NBA. He has played in two Olympic Games for China (1996, 2000). The 6-11 Bateer played in 27 games last season for Denver, averaging 5.1 points and 3.6 rebounds. |
